The past month updates

So, it's been like an entire month since I posted anything.  I don't know what happened and why I wasn't posting anything.  In the past month, we went to the zoo (which hopefully today I will get around to blogging about), and we basically stayed in the house to keep from melting in the sweltering Texas heat (there were many, many, many days above 105 degrees).

Over the past month, Logan finally got into his blow-up pool--spending more than 5 minutes in it.  That was nice for me because I was able to soak my feet (or on the rare occasion, join him in the pool which he loved.)

He is starting to become more independent.  At times he will through a fit if we don't let him do things.  It is a learning experience for Kevin and I--we are so used to doing everything for him.  We have to remember that he is two, and he can do somethings (at least he'll try) on his own.

He is learning new words everyday.  He still isn't stringing them together--well, not very often.  The other day he did say "Dada, are you?"  (Dada, where are you?)  Slowly but surely he will get there.  Sometimes it's hard for me when I see girls his age who seem to be way ahead of him, but I have to remind myself that boys develop differently.

He knows all of his letters and he can tell you at least one animal that starts with that letter.  He can recognize the letters when we are out.  One day, Logan and I were at lunch with Jonathan (a co-worker of mine) and he was pointing out the letters on the wall and telling Jonathan what they were.  Jonathan thought that was so cool.

Logan is back at school.  He is still in the same room with Miss Julie.  His class is small this year--only 5 or 6 of them...all boys and one girl.  He is doing well, but has several things to work on while he is there.  There's sharing.  He is not used to sharing.  He likes to hog all the cars, and the other boys don't like that.  He also is working on him not crying when someone tells him no.  This is something I can't wait to end.  He loves school.  Often times he does not want to leave when I get there to pick him up.  That makes me happy that he likes to be there and likes to learn.

I guess that is all for now.  I will try not to wait so long between updates, and I will hopefully have that zoo post up asap.
