Story Time

I took Scarlet to her first story time this past week.  We went to the Milwood Library for the toddler story time.  I was nervous because she likes to move around, but she did awesome.  I think this will become a regular event during the rest of the summer.

Waiting for the library to open.

Waiting for story time to begin.

Tuesday's Ten With a Twist

I haven't done a Tuesday's Ten post in a very long time.  So, I thought today is as good as any day.  I am sure you are wondering, "What is this twist you mentioned in the title?"  Good question.  I plan on making today's post have 2 parts.

PART ONE

  1. Logan has been in underwear for over a week now.  Now, don't get too excited.  He still has some accidents, and we do make him go to the bathroom every hour and 15 minutes or so, but small steps people...small steps.
  2. Scarlet has been working on cutting her bottom canines for over a month now.  I feel she is so close to having them break through.  I can see the tops are just about there--that is when she lets me look into her mouth.  Usually have to get her laughing during a diaper change to really get a good peek in there.
  3. Scarlet LOVES books.  She knows which ones she likes.  Usually she will hand a book to me and sit down right where we are to hear it.  She expects me to sit as well.  If she doesn't like the book, she will close it in my hand and not let me finish.
  4. Logan still loves to lie down to play with his cars.
  5. Scarlet *might* be allergic to sesame.  We are not positive yet.  She tried hummus yesterday and today and both times she got red blotches around her mouth, on her chin, and on her cheeks.
  6. Logan likes to sing to himself all the time.  One of his favorite songs to sing is "The More We Get Together".
  7. Scarlet is very good at using a fork to eat.  In fact, she uses one at almost every meal.
  8. Currently, Logan's favorite book is Curious George.
  9. Scarlet is a climber!!!  She climbs up the slide.  She climbs up the stairs.  She climbs up the ladder on the playset.  She climbs onto chairs.  The other day, she climbed up onto the dining room table.  She is fearless!
  10. Logan turned 4 today!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Can you believe it?!

PART TWO

Here's the twist...10 photos of the kids that I really like from this summer that have not been posted on the blog yet.  It's a two for one folks!!!!

Yes, I know that technically there are 11 photos, but let's overlook that shall we?  They are cute kids after all.

Logan and His June Summer School Experience

During the summer Logan goes to the Nicholson ECE for what I call summer school.  I think it is good for him to continue with some sort of structured program during the summer.  He goes 5 days/week from 8:30-12:30.  He is really enjoying it.  He has made a new friend named Inho.  Here are some pics the center shared with us of the month of June.

Even at school, he likes to line up his cars.
Sensory table

Hmmm...I like what she is doing over there with the dropper.
Look at my masterpiece.
Reading a book with Inho.
Legos with Inho.
Building a city for the cars and trains.

They spent one week talking about camping and had a campsite set up in the common area.

Bird watching

Trying to catch a fish
I caught one...let me get it.

They also do splash day twice in the summer.  The first one was last week.  Here a a few shots.  It appeared that he spent much of his time at the water sensory table.

Logan's 4th Birthday Party

On Saturday, June 29th, we celebrated Logan's 4th birthday by having a car themed party.  Now, before I go on, I must note that according to Logan, he is turning 7...not 4.  This will be important later when you see the pictures of him blowing out his candles.

We invited our families, the neighbors, a couple of other friends, and some of our friends.  We had a fabulous time.  Here are some pictures.  I wish I could have gotten more, but I didn't take a lot during the party because it was more fun to be part of the party and not watching the party through the lens.

He said what?  No he didn't girlfriend.

It was a really great party.  Logan really enjoyed the party, the cake, and all the cool gifts he received.  Let's hope next year is just as good.
