Logan was super cute today. He asked to paint, which he regained interest in about a day ago. When we went to clean up, I noticed he had a fair amount of paint in his hair. I said it aloud to him. I started to turn to go get a washcloth to get it out when I noticed he stuck his head under the sink faucet to rinse it out. He almost got it all out on his own before I had to step in to help.
It was so cute. That is all.
This was the story of Logan Andrew. Born on July 2, 2009 at 3:14 am (yes, for you geeks, Logan was born at pi) He weighed in 6 pounds and 15 ounces. He measured in at 20 1/2 inches. However, it is now the story of Tiny as well. Scarlet Grace was born on March 3rd, 2012. She also weighed 6 lbs 15 ounces. She was 19 3/4 inches long.

Austin Zoo
So, it's a little late, but better late than never. I don't know what stopped me from posting it on time. Well, I do know. I was very tired.
On July 29th, Logan and I took advantage of a Facebook Deals coupon I bought and we went to the Austin Zoo. It's not a huge zoo, but it's a good place to start. At first Logan liked it, but then, he wasn't so much into the animals. Maybe when he is a little older, we will take him to the zoo in San Antonio and he will enjoy that more.
But, I did get a few good pictures of him "interacting" with the animals.
The zoo had one other attraction that Logan was super excited about. It had a train that you could ride. Logan loves trains.
All in all it was a fun morning. We brought our lunch and had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches by the lions. We got to be outside before it became extremely hot. I got to spend some fun time with my Logan.

The owners have a one-eyed cat, and Logan was entranced with him.
What animal is in there Logan?
There were several types of monkeys there. Most were small like this ring-tailed one.
Looking over the fence at the monkeys.
They had 3 tigers. It was hot that day...the water looked refreshing.
Logan looking at the tigers.
There was also a lion. Roar!
The zoo also had a section with petting zoo type animals that you could feed.
Logan dropped the feed into the trough instead of putting his hand out.
Cute deer
Logan decided he needed a rest in the shade near the deer.
I must climb over this fence to get to that train!
I can't wait. I am first in line!! Yay!!
Let's go!!
Look at that over there.
What's up ahead?
The past month updates
So, it's been like an entire month since I posted anything. I don't know what happened and why I wasn't posting anything. In the past month, we went to the zoo (which hopefully today I will get around to blogging about), and we basically stayed in the house to keep from melting in the sweltering Texas heat (there were many, many, many days above 105 degrees).
Over the past month, Logan finally got into his blow-up pool--spending more than 5 minutes in it. That was nice for me because I was able to soak my feet (or on the rare occasion, join him in the pool which he loved.)
He is starting to become more independent. At times he will through a fit if we don't let him do things. It is a learning experience for Kevin and I--we are so used to doing everything for him. We have to remember that he is two, and he can do somethings (at least he'll try) on his own.
He is learning new words everyday. He still isn't stringing them together--well, not very often. The other day he did say "Dada, are you?" (Dada, where are you?) Slowly but surely he will get there. Sometimes it's hard for me when I see girls his age who seem to be way ahead of him, but I have to remind myself that boys develop differently.
He knows all of his letters and he can tell you at least one animal that starts with that letter. He can recognize the letters when we are out. One day, Logan and I were at lunch with Jonathan (a co-worker of mine) and he was pointing out the letters on the wall and telling Jonathan what they were. Jonathan thought that was so cool.
Logan is back at school. He is still in the same room with Miss Julie. His class is small this year--only 5 or 6 of them...all boys and one girl. He is doing well, but has several things to work on while he is there. There's sharing. He is not used to sharing. He likes to hog all the cars, and the other boys don't like that. He also is working on him not crying when someone tells him no. This is something I can't wait to end. He loves school. Often times he does not want to leave when I get there to pick him up. That makes me happy that he likes to be there and likes to learn.
I guess that is all for now. I will try not to wait so long between updates, and I will hopefully have that zoo post up asap.
