The Rice Box

Yet another idea I got from a mommy friend of mine--the rice box.  It's very easy.

1.  Go buy some cheap rice.
2.  Go buy some cheap plastic toys.  (We bought a $3 bag of farm animals)
3.  Pour rice and put toys in a plastic bin.  Preferably one that has a cover so bugs don't get in your rice.
4.  Let child have at it.

Logan loves the rice box.  Yesterday, after nap time, he asked for the box.  At first, I didn't quite know what he meant.  Then he pointed at the counter and it clicked.

He really likes the rice box.  He loves to dig for the animals.  He likes to bury the animals.  He likes to play with the animals and the rice.  It's a nice, quiet activity that can keep him occupied for an extended period of time.

In fact, the first thing he asked for this morning was his rice box.
