A Red 10" Radio Flyer Tricycle

Grandma Linda and Paw Paw got Logan a very nice gift for his 2nd birthday.  It arrived in the mail on Wednesday.  We had the box in the front hall.  I had planned on opening the box and putting it together after Logan went to bed.  Logan had other plans.  He dragged the box into the family room and proceeded to open the box.
What's this?  A box inside a box?
Hey, I can fit in this box.

What's up here?
Looks like daddy is going to box up Logan and ship him back.

Well.  That was as far as Logan got.  He lost interest in the box.  And besides, it was bedtime.  So, after about a billion (more like 5 or 6) stories, I came down to put the tricycle together.
My first look at the bike.
All the parts.

The finished tricycle.
It wasn't that hard to put together--except for lining up and tightening the handlebars.  That was super difficult.  Now, all I had to do was wait for Logan to see it in the morning.
Here's Logan taking his first "ride" on his new tricycle.
We did take the tricycle outside twice yesterday.  However, I forgot the camera.  He likes the bike.  He just needs to learn to pedal and how to use the handlebars to steer.   If I attach the handle and he doesn't steer--we don't go very far--except into the lawn.

This morning Logan tried his tricycle again in the house.  He is getting better at steering.  But he pushed with his feet.  I tried to show him about pedaling--but in due time, I know.
Hey mom.  What's up.
He said "cheese" as I was taking this pic.  I love this shot!
You didn't know that back platform was to transport cookies?
Thanks Grandma Linda and Paw Paw.  It's a great gift!!  Logan really loves it!

Birthday Party

We had a little cook-out for my boy's 2nd birthday.  It was small--we invited the neighbors and the family.  The cookout didn't start until after 4pm.  We spent the early part of the day preparing--getting food ready, cleaning the house, making sure Logan took a nap.

After said nap, Logan awoke and came downstairs.  We had put his remaining presents on the dining room table.  Logan noticed them and quietly got up on a chair, reached as far as his little Logan arms could, and grabbed one of them.

So, of course we had to let him open the present.  It was some more cars, because my boy can't have enough cars.

Finally, guest began to arrive.  Logan had tons of fun playing with Dillon, Uncle Ray, Aunt Erica, Aunt Lorri, Uncle Jeff, and his cousins--Jeffrey, Dan, Kara, and Nicole.  They played with cars, they blew bubbles (see awesome bubble video here), Logan went in the pool, they swung in the hammock, and of course--cake and presents!!

Logan tries to crawl away from Nicole and Kara.
Nicole seems really into Logan's story.
I wonder what is in this bottle?
Kara, I'm just gonna get comfortable over here.   I hope you don't mind.
Here Kara.  Maybe this bottle of bubbles will revive you.
What Dan does best?

Soon after hammock time...it was cake time!!!  Yay for yummy cupcakes!!!

Are all those for me?
Did you hear...those are for me!!

I choose this one, with the #2 on it.
So tasty.
Just one more bite.
The cupcake with the chocolate icing was gooooooood.
I can't believe I ate 2 cupcakes.
I think this length of track goes here.
Let me just sit down right here.
Logan-saurus grabs the bridge and stops train traffic.
I'm gonna go.  I'm done with this train wreck.

Logan had a fabulous birthday.  He got to see his family, he got his chip on, and he received a bunch of really fun new toys.  What more could a 2-year-old want?

Bubbles!!!

Thanks to his cousin Nicole, Logan discovered bubbles yesterday.  He loves bubbles.  He had so much fun trying to blow bubbles.  In fact, we were able to capture him blowing his first bubbles on video.

In the first video, you can see how excited Logan is about bubbles.

In this second video, Logan blows bubbles for the first time--YAY!!!

Birthday Presents--part 1.

We let Logan open a couple of his presents on his birthday.  We wanted to say a few for his party.  He is very good at getting the wrapping paper off his gifts.
Are these for me?
I'll rip off one piece at a time.

Cool.  Wooden trucks.
Let's unwrap this bigger one!

A new latches box!!!

Right away, Logan began to play with his new toys--wooden stacking trucks and a Melissa & Doug Latches box.  He opened and closed the box.  He stacked and unstacked his trucks.  And, he put the trucks in the box.  It was a win-win for him.  Great choice of gifts on our part.
