I was trying to find something fun and different for Logan and I to do. While doing some research on the interwebz, I stumbled upon the Zilker Zephyr Train at Zilker Park. On Thursday morning, we packed up a snack, some water, and our sunscreen and headed on down to Zilker Park.
We arrived early at the park. You can't purchase tickets until 10am. The first train leaves at 10:15. So, while we waited, Logan went and played on the playground that is just up the hill from the train station. There he found an old Zilker Fire Department truck.
Finally it was time to go to the station to buy our tickets.
Logan was super excited when we walked up to the station and he saw the train.
We waited in line, bought our tickets, and took our seats on the train.
Finally, the conductor took his seat and we were off. Logan took a few minutes to warm up to the ride. There were several times towards the beginning of the ride where he wanted to stand, but he soon understood that he couldn't stand. He sat for the rest of the ride. Most of the trip he sat in wonderment of the moving world around him. In the end, he really enjoyed the train ride...I even caught him smiling a few times.
