Sunday Morning in the Park

Kevin and I tool Logan to the park this past Sunday.  We have been to the Avery Ranch MAC only once to use the swings.  I felt Logan was big enough now to use the playground there.  We went on all 3 playscapes, but decided the 3rd was too big for him now.

Here are the pictures:

Check out Logan's awesome slide hair!
Even Kevin went for a ride on the slide

Framing Job, $400; Paper it was wrapped in, Priceless

So, we finally got our antique map framed and it came wrapped in a rather large piece of brown craft paper.  Logan really enjoyed our purchase.

Walking Down the Stairs

Logan's newest achievement is walking down the stairs...yes, I said walking.  No more butt sliding or crawling down backwards.  He is a little slow, but he's getting better at it every time.
Since this video, Logan is now walking all the way up and all the way down--holding onto the railing of course.

Snow Day 2011

It snowed last night (or was it early this morning.)  Anyway, I bundled Logan up--thanks to Grandma Vicki for the mittens, daycare for the hat, and Aunt Karla for the coat.  We went out in the snow for about a half hour.  Finally Dillon came out and I thought the 2 friends would be able to play together for a while, but by that point Logan had had enough.  He started to whine and headed straight up our drive and to the front door.  The cold had finally gotten to him.  I guess there is no New England in him--yet.

Are you lookin' at me?

Can I Introduce You to my Friend Ranch Dressing?

Almost 2 weeks ago now, we went to Monday Night Dinner at Chuy's .  It was clear that Logan wanted to dip his chips into something like the adults were doing, but unfortunately for him we were dipping into their famous jalapeno ranch.  I don't think Logan would like it too much.  At some point, Anita had ordered plain ranch for Matilda and the staff brought several bowls.  So, we did what any right-minded parent would do...we gave one of the bowls to Logan.

Here's what followed:

18 month check-up

Logan had his 18 month check-up today and all was good.  He is 34" tall--90th percentile still.  If he continues on that path, he is going to be a tall boy!  He weighs 28lbs.  It may not seem like much, but when you are the one carrying him, it's a lot.

He got 2 shots today and took them like you would expect an 18-month-old to.  He didn't cry for the first one, but he cried (for all of 3 minutes) for the 2nd one.

We had to answer some questions about his interaction and he did well on those.

And as for my worries of him not saying enough...at 18 months, a child should have between 7-20 words.  Logan is good there:  milk, more, snack, seat, book, cheese, nose, beebo(bellybutton), and a few others I am sure.

All in all, it was a good visit.
