It took about 2 hours to get there. We upgraded to preferred parking, and boy was that the right thing to do. We were so close to the gate. We got our tickets and the first thing we did was take a picture just outside of the park.
We walked into the park and went right to see the sea lions. Logan really liked them and recognized them right away. Luckily there were windows in the wall so Scarlet could see too.
I thought it would be fun to let Logan feed the sea lions.
After the sea lions we went to the penguin house. I think he enjoyed looking at the penguins as much as he enjoyed the moving sidewalk in front of the penguin enclosure.
Before lunch we sat down for a bit and saw a show at Azul. It starred 2 beluga whales and some porpoises.
When we returned from lunch (a fabulous meal of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches eaten in the back of the rav--Sea World doesn't allow you to bring in sandwiches), we went to Dolphin Cove to see the, you guessed it, the dolphins. First we just went and looked, but the dolphins were more interested in the guests who had bought fish to feed them, so we hopped in line and bought some fish too. Logan and I took turns feeding the dolphins. I got to touch one. It was harder than I thought it would be, and it was totally smooth. For some reason I thought they would feel slimy like fish.
Our next stop was the shark tank/coral reef. Logan really enjoyed going up to the glass of the tanks to see the fish and the sharks. Scarlet was getting restless in the stroller, so I let her out to walk around a bit.
The last thing we did was go to see Shamu. I think that they enjoyed it...what they saw of it that is. By that time, I am sure they were getting hot and tired and a little bit antsy. I enjoyed it. I wish I could have seen more.
Before the show, I promised Logan if he sat through the show, we would go get some popcorn. Well, we walked around and around and couldn't find any. So, we settled on on soft serve. It was well deserved. He did very well today. He only had 2 crying fits. He never ran away from me. And he walked almost the entire time.
We both have fun passes, so I can wait to take them back to the park again this summer. Maybe next time Kevin can come with us.
