Potty Training Logan, part deux

Now that Logan is 3, we decided, well I decided it was time to try to get Logan to use the potty and finally ditch those pull-ups.  We are not going about it like last time.  This time we are taking a more laid back approach.

It has been 3 days now.  He is doing well.  I started by reading this blog.  I then catered it to meet my desires and laziness.  We are still in pull-ups.  Logan refused to put on the underpants I bought for him.  I tried, but he took them off.  He is getting a "treat" every time he goes in the potty, with the exception of the one right before bed.  He gets 2 M&M's as his treat.  At this time, we are not working on pooping in the potty--only peeing.

Day 1 was Sunday.  Every half hour we took Logan to sit on his potty.  He had to stay until he went pee-pee or the 2 minute time went off.  We were doing great.  I think we went through maybe 3 diapers all day.

Day 2.  I upped the time to 45 minutes.  Again.  He did great.  He didn't always have to go, but he rarely went in his pull-up.

Day 3.  I upped the time again to 1 hour.  He did well.  At the beginning of the day we had to find our rhythm.  He did go in his pull-ups 2 times before we got into our rhythm.  Today I was working with him to realize that pee goes in the potty, not in his pull-ups.

We will continue the 1 hour between sittings for a couple of days then I will up the time more.  I am hoping that next week we can ditch the pull-ups and try the underwear.  I will put on pull-ups for nap time and overnight.  (And probably for going out until I feel he is ready.)  I also hope that this will get us on track for the pooping in the potty too.

It is my goal, although not necessary, to have him potty trained by the time we go back to school in August.  It would be so great for me to only have to worry about having 1 in diapers again.
