So, as many of you know, I went in for induction on July 1st. It took all day. I was given the induction meds at about 7:30 and things moved along slowly. I talked with hubby and watched tv...I forgot what cable was like since we had gotten rid of it by this time. Around 3:30-4 I finally asked for the epi because I took the pain as long as I could. I found that once the epi kicked in I was able to talk to DH and joke around with him a lot more and I was "enjoying" being in early labor. It was weird to not be able to feel my contractions though.
At some point I hit 3 cm and I just stalled for a long time. I mean hours and hours and hours. Finally around 1am on July 2, it was time to push. Man, that part wasn't as painful as it was tiring. I pushed and pushed, but baby Logan was not cooperating. We were so happy that he wasn't breech anymore, but now he was facing sideways instead of face down. My doc just could get him to turn around and face down, she tried a hand held vac, and after 3 tries, made the decision to go with a c-section. I was not happy. As I said, we were so excited that he had turned and was no longer breech...all I wanted was to deliver vaginally.
They got the OR set and we had our c-section. Easiest delivery ever. Except I kept shivering like there was no tomorrow. I was told I would feel some tugging but no pain. I felt nothing and I didn't even know Logan was born until I heard the crying. He was so cute.Kevin was so excited and bonded with him instantly. Kevin got to go watch him be measured and weighed. He got to go with him to take pictures and such. I had to stay in the OR, all cold and lonely.
Logan Andrew was born at 3:14 am on July 2nd. He weighed 6lbs 15oz and was 20.5 inches long. He is adorable. I know every mom says that. But, he really is cute.
My stay at the hospital got extended from Friday until Sunday. I am glad to finally be home. We are getting acclimated to our new surroundings that differ greatly--in a wonderfully positive way--from the hospital. I am not looking forward to c-section recovery, but life goes on and I am glad I have great support from DH (not to mention the greatest baby of all time
)
